TechSmith Snagit

In this one-day training course, you'll learn how to use the features of Snagit to quickly and easily capture screenshots and videos. You'll start by learning how to manipulate the Snagit capture window and its many options. Then you'll get a comprehensive overview of the Snagit editor, which contains all the tools you'll need to enhance your captures, including how to simplify your captures, blur faces, illustrate the steps of a process and much more.

Once you've completed your visuals, you'll see how to share them with your audience, thanks to the various sharing destinations available in Snagit.

You'll also discover how to use Snagit to make short videos to quickly and effectively communicate various concepts to your audience.
This course will also encourage discussion and exchange of experience on the use of visual communication and video in the educational or corporate environment.

Prerequisites

This course is designed for beginners. No prior knowledge of TechSmith Snagit is required. A working knowledge of your operating system (Mac or Windows) is all it takes to get you started!

Course content

The content below corresponds to a one-day training course. You can reduce the duration of the course by choosing the topics to be covered in your customized course from those listed below.

1. Snagit fundamentals (1h)
   This chapter provides a first overview of Snagit and of the three steps involved in producing content with Snagit: the capture phase, the editing phase and the sharing phase.
2. Using the capture window (1h30)
   This chapter covers the options available in the capture window. You'll learn how to make simple captures, panoramic captures, add effects, create presets and more. You will also learn how to automatically integrate your captures into various applications such as Word, Power Point and Camtasia.
3. Using the Snagit editor (2h30)
   This chapter covers the main tools for enhancing your screenshots in Snagit. You'll start by learning the general workings of the Snagit editor, before concentrating on using the main tools available in the application..
4. Using the Snagit library (30min)
   In this chapter, you'll explore the features offered by the Snagit library, so you can easily find any image or video produced by the application.
5. Customizing Snagit (30 min)
   This chapter covers the features you can use to customize your Snagit installation for greater ease of use and productivity. In particular, you'll learn how to create personalized themes, choose your favorite tools and customize the software interface.
6. Creating video with Snagit (1h)
   This chapter covers the tools available for creating videos with Snagit. You'll learn in detail how to use the video capture engine and review the video editing tools available in Snagit. You'll also see how to create a video from your screenshots and how to export your videos in various formats. Finally, you'll learn how to create animated Gifs with Snagit.
7. Using Snagit templates (1h)
   This chapter covers the creation of visuals using the templates available in Snagit. You'll learn how to combine multiple screenshots into high-quality documents that you can easily share with your audience.

Practical details

This course can be delivered both face-to-face and online. This course is intended for organizations (companies, schools, universities, etc.). We do not offer open training sessions on TechSmith Snagit.

In case of online training, the course can be devided in two half-days that do not have to be contiguous. We will plan the training together according to your needs and availability.
